Violins

I make my violins individually, by hand, using traditional construction methods.  I have patterns for Guarneri, Amati, and Strad in different sizes.  Custom patterns and sizes are also possible.  The tops are Sitka spruce from northern Washington or Alaska.  The maple for the backs, ribs, and necks is mostly from Slovakia, but I sometimes use bigleaf maple from the Northwest if I find a piece with exceptional figure.  Willow is used for the corner blocks, end blocks, and linings.  I hand-turn the pegs and endbuttons.
