Purfling Scraper

This tool is designed to scrape purfling to a desired thickness. The blade is sharpened with a hooked edge, like a cabinet scraper. The purfling is slid under the blade and pulled forward. Thickness is controlled with the brass adjustment screw. Best results are obtained by alternately scraping each side, decreasing the thickness by no more than 1/8 turn of the adjustment screw for each side.

The body is made of 6061 aluminum, with a brass pivot dowel, and steel compass spring. The blade is standard scraper steel.
